OUR SCHOOL - Positive Behaviour Support (PBS)

Positive Behaviour Support

Positive Behaviour Support is a school wide strategy for helping all students achieve important social and learning goals. As part of the PBS program Northcliffe District High School has established clear behaviour expectations for all school community members in all areas of our school. We believe that by helping students practise good behaviour, we will build a school community where all students can succeed and grow.

Our schoolwide behaviour expectations are:

  • Choose Respect
  • Strive for Excellence
  • Create Belonging

Teachers explicitly teach these behaviours to all students and acknowledge them frequently for their positive behaviour. Our current system includes points awarded through Class Dojo as well as specific class rewards. The expectations for all student behaviour are clearly displayed throughout our buildings and playground areas. The school behaviour expectations builds on our social/emotional and academic learning program, promote a positive school environment and give more time for teaching and learning.
